Augustus Pablo. wł. Horace Swaby ur. 21 czerwca 1953 w St. Andrew na Jamajce, zm. 18 maja 1999 w Kingston. W dzieciństwie grał na organach w późniejszym czasie nauczył sie grać na melodyce. W Kingston College School zaprzyjaźnił się Tyrronem Downie. Melodyki użył jako pierwszy na świecie w profesjonalnych nagraniach. Debiutował w 1971 utworem "Iggy Iggy" rok później ukazał sie utwór "East Of River Nile" i "Java". Jednak fani Augustusa Pablo cenią sobie najbardziej album "King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown". Zaś piosenka "King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown" była nawet użyta w GTA SA(Radio K- JAH WEST). W latach 90 ograniczył swoją działalność muzyczną i ukazywały sie jego starsze i przerobione utwory np. "Cassava Piece", "Dub Ethiopia", "Give Praise". Augustus Pablo współpracował z inżynierem dźwięku i producentem King Tubbym. W kolejnych latach nawiązywał współprace z wieloma producentami i muzykami z kręgu reggae oraz dub np. Lee "Scratch" Perry, Hugh Mundell, Horace Andy, Dillinger, itd. Zmarł 18 maja 1999 roku z powodu ne leczonej miastenii.
