Przez czternaście już lat swojego istnienia Dreadzone widział wiele pojawiających się i znikających trendów w muzyce, jak i przeszedł wiele zmian składów - zawsze gwarantując świeżość brzmienia i stały wysoki poziom. Jak do tej pory sprzedaż ich płyt przekroczyła 125 000 sztuk a grupa zyskała reputację oszałamiającego widowiska na żywo. Zdobyli poparcie takich legend jak Annie Nightingale czy wspaniały Johna Peel. Są twórcami oryginalnych brzmień, mających trwały wpływ na ciągle rosnącą grupę ich fanów. Razem z takimi grupami jak Zion Train wprowadzili na światowe salony styl, który można by określić jako digital roots czy techno dub, zachowując przy tym swoje łatwo rozpoznawalne, charakterystyczne wibracje. Dreadzone przeszedł długą drogę od 1993 roku oraz debiutanckiego albumu '360°' (Creation Rec.), poprzez sukces kolejnej płyty 'Second Light' (Virgin Rec.), do krążka 'Biological Radio' a następnie wkraczając w nowy rozdział organizując regularne noce klubowe pod nazwą Dubwiser, wydając klubowe single nakładem Fingerlickin Records oraz czwarty album 'Sound' (Rufflife Rec.). Ten okres produkcyjny spowodował również narodziny Dreadzone Sound System, pchając do przodu formułę DJ'ską, zapewniając ciągłe bycie na czasie oraz klubowe szlifowanie nowego materiału. Doprowadziło to do wydania w lutym 2005 roku płyty typu DJ mix pt. 'Beatz & Bobz Volume 4'. Ten czas to wielki powrót do koncertów - 'Return Of The Dread'. Zespół zagrał dla tysięcy fanów na wielu festiwalach jak m.in. Glastonbury, The Glade, Carling w Reading i Leeds, Beautiful Days oraz The Wickerman. Zagrali też regularną trasę koncertową po Zjednoczonym Królestwie oraz wydali dwa single z ostatniego albumu - 'King Dub Rock' i 'Once Upon A Time in Jamaica', zaznaczając w ten sposób pełny powrót na scenę. W roku 2006 założyciel grupy Greg Dread razem z Benem Balafonic, niezwykle charakterystycznym M.C Spee, legendarnym jamajskim wokalistą reggae Earl 16, mistrzem basu Leo Williamsem oraz gitarzystą Steve'm Robertsem powracają do centrum uwagi budzącymi respekt koncertami jak zwykle miksującymi technologię, żywą sekcją rytmiczną oraz zarówno stare jak i nowe klasyki ze swej historii. Dostarczają nową żywą formułę dźwięku dla ich piątego albumu 'Once Upon A Time', wydanego we wrześniu 2004 przez breakbeatową wytwórnią Functional.
